Robert Ferril Peel was born in La Mesa, California, on August 31, 1975.  He graduated from Brigham Young University as an English major with a minor in Economics and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2005.  During his law school career, Rob worked as a law clerk for the estate planning firm of Holbrook and Peterson, PLLC in Knoxville.  Rob joined Jones, King & Downs, P.C. as an associate in 2005 and was admitted to the firm on January 1, 2010.

 

     Rob is a member of the Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council, the Wills, Trusts & Estates and Business Law Sections of the Virginia Bar Association, the Estate Planning & Probate and Tax Law Sections of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association.  Rob has written published articles on estate planning related topics, including “Using a Directed Trustee to Facilitate Sophisticated Estate Planning with a Closely Held Business” and “The Effect of Marriage and Divorce on Existing Estate Plans.”

 

     Rob served a two year mission in Rome, Italy for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he learned to speak Italian.  He also worked as a computer consultant for Convergys providing technical support for Microsoft products.

 

     Rob resides in Bristol, Tennessee with his wife, Nicole, and their children, Adam, Luke and Scarlett.  He has served on the Board of Directors of the Bristol Historical Association since 2007.  Rob is actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and serves as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 208 located in Bristol, Virginia.  Rob has also served as the youth leader for his church since 2006.
